Spanish-language broadcasters Univision and Telemundo finish strong on rerun heavy Monday
Dancing With the Stars propelled ABC to a ratings win with Monday’s 90-minute performance show up 13 percent compared to last week’s season low. DWTS earned a 4.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 21.8 million viewers overall. And with a DWTS lead-in, a special edition of Better with You (2.6, 11.6 million) was up a steep 63 percent compared to last Wednesday’s 8:30 p.m. telecast. A rerun of Castle (1.6, 7.6 million) was second in the 10 p.m. time slot behind a rerun of CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 (1.7, 6.9 million).
For the night, ABC averaged a 3.2 rating with 15.3 million viewers overall followed by CBS (1.9, 6.7 million), which was in all reruns save for Mad Love (2.0, 5.5 million) at 8:30 p.m. Univision (1.4, 3.4 million) was third for the night with telenovelas Teresa (1.4, 3.3. million) and Triunfo del Amor (1.4, 3.6 million). Fox and NBC both averaged a 1.2 demo rating for the night with 4.4 million and 4.3 million viewers, respectively. Fox aired reruns of House (1.5, 4.8 million) and The Chicago Code (1.0, 4.1 million). NBC programmed a rerun of Chuck (0.9, 2.8 million) and new episodes of The Event (1.3, 4.4 million) and Law & Order: Los Angeles (1.3, 5.7 million). LOLA climbed double digits from last week’s series low but finished behind ABC, CBS, Telemundo’s La Reina del Sur (1.5, 2.9 million), which was third at 10 p.m., and Univision.
