Veteran showrunner to give a master class at Banff World Media Festival about creating TV comedy hits like The Office and Parks and Recreation.
TORONTO – The Office showrunner Greg Daniels is to get the master class treatment at the Banff World Media Festival, organizers said Friday.Daniels, who paid his dues in TV comedy at HBO’s Not Necessarily the News, Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons before striking it big with The Office, King of the Hill and Parks and Recreation, will discuss his craft at the Canadian Rockies gathering.
“Greg Daniels has been responsible for some of the biggest hits and funniest moments of the last two decades of television," Banff executive director Ferne Cohen said of the TV showrunner.
Other showrunners in Banff to give interviews and classes include Veena Sud (The Killing, Cold Case), Arnold Shapiro (Scared Straight!, Rescure 911) Dan Signer (Mr. Young) and, as earlier announced, James Burrows.
